Selain fitur standar BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) untuk mengakses 10 akun email dan juga BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) untuk fitur keamanan dan administrasi TI perusahaan, ponsel ini menawarkan fitur baru untuk multimedia.
Untuk mendukung fungsi multimedia, RIM membenamkan kamera digital 2 MP dengan fungsi zoom dan video recording. Dalam sistim operasinya juga disediakan media player terbaru untuk musik, gambar dan video dengan tombol media khusus dan sebuah jack headset stereo 3.5mm.
Dalam penjelasannya juga disebutkan, ponsel yang menggunakan memori flash 256 MB dan prosesor 512 MHz generasi terbaru, ini, menawarkan fitur premium seperti voice activated dialing dan dukungan Bluetooth 2.0 untuk penggunaan hands-free dengan headset, car kits, stereo headsets dan aksesoris Bluetooth lainnya.
Meski sudah disediakan kartu memori 2 GB di dalamnya, memori BlackBerry Gemini juga bisa ditambah dengan menggunakan slot kartu memori hot swapable microSD/SDHC berkapasitas hingga 32 GB.
Soal kecepatan akses, ponsel ini diyakini tetap punya kecepatan tinggi meski belum memiliki koneksi 3G/HSDPA. Ponsel ini beroperasi di jaringan EGDE/GPRS/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz). Untuk alternatif koneksi, RIM juga menyediakan Built-in Wi-Fi pada Gemini.
